Comment.
Well that was it; a cobbled together summer series with many ‘ifs buts and maybes.’ In the end we just about made a series of it despite foot and mouth and every restriction on liberty known to man. Let me just say; that milk collection continued with the very minimum precautions on many farms, rough shooting occurred every weekend by ‘wardens’ and the like. I also fervently believe that once Grouse and Pheasant shooting is upon us in October ( which is the real season in the North ) we will see shooting on the moors and the consequent  £1500 to £2500 per day per shooter income. Our liberty counts for nothing next to commercialism!
Despite this political mess I have enjoyed the series where the stalwarts turned out and had a go.

Hope to see you at the first Winter Event which will be at Pinchinthorpe Guisborough at 10.30 a.m. on Sunday 14th October 2001 (definitely on!) when we will run the Pinchinthorpe Plod route.
One way or another I hope to have nine events in the Winter Series. Six to count so get them in early then if ‘The Moors’ is cancelled again you don’t have to do a beach race ( hush my mouth!)
